I seem to be in a very heavy Christmas mood these days and it soooo not me. Weird! This card is one that I had done for my Christmas Cards Class but had put it aside because I wasn't happy with it. It's been sitting on my desk for 3 weeks now and I kept looking at it, undecided as to whether I should just throw it away -- I know... gasp!
Tonight, I had an "ah-ha" moment and grabbed my Soft Suede Stampin' Write Marker to make a faux-stitching line all around (thanks Kristina Werner for the inspiration). I think it works. Now the part that doesn't show much from the picture is that the white CS where the holly is stamped is actually a second piece of Whisper White adhered to the card base with Stampin' Dimensionals. But you can hardly tell from the picture. I wanted the white-on-white effect. The sparkle line at the bottom is made by putting down a length of Sticky Strip on the cardstock and sprinkling some Chunky White Glitter on it. Since I was going to overlay the sentiment over the main image, the flower was first stamped on a piece of scrap paper and then stamped on the main piece so as to create a lighter imprint. The middle is a half-back pearl from the Pretties Kit.
I hope that inspires you to start cranking up your Christmas cards!
Oh, and I've added an option at the end of each of my posts called "Favorite" and if you click on it, this will allow you to store anyone of my blog post as your favorite for easy future viewing. Pretty neat, huh?! Go ahead and test it out!
