hello everyone,

it's been a while, i know. but i have a few cards to share with you and i also did a little video show & tell for them so you can check that out at the end of this post. i made those for my sister-in-law and i hope she likes them.

happy anniversary card

let me start by apologizing for the lack of posts and also for the fact that i'm behind on my promised "3 videos a week"... i'm excited to report that the lack of posts and videos is due to my services being retained by my local scrapbook store as their social media coordinator. this new endeavour was a surprise and happened rather quickly! so i'll be really busy with that and unfortunately this blog and my videos will be slower in coming, at least until i get into a proper routine.

that being said, i've got a card to show you today. it was an intense coloring session and i'm quite pleased with how it turned out (minus a few shadowing mistakes...)

i bought this fun digital image from Make It Crafty. as soon as i saw it, i knew it was perfect for a wedding anniversary card LOL.

this was fun to colour with my copic markers. the dsp paper is from the oliver collection by basic grey.

25th anniversary card

it's wednesday... half of the week is gone and i haven't accomplished 50% of my to-do list! aaargh! wouldn't it be great to invent a machine that gives you more time and remove the effect of staying up all night?!

until then, i'll just do the old-fashioned way : work until 3 a.m., sleep until 9 a.m., work until 3 a.m...... well, you know the pattern!

anyways, i was asked to make a 25th anniversary card and to keep it sober. the photo below is not the best ones i've ever snapped but it give you a general idea.

i chose to work with 2 embossed paper from stampin' up from the retired presto collection. the sentiment from an old stamp i had is embossed in silver.

where i had the most fun was with the 2 wedding bands. again, it's from an old stamp and i've embossed in silver on silver cardstock. then i cut out the inside of both and slipped the image unto a silver lined organza ribbon.

cards bonanza part 7 : wedding card

white on white -- that was an experiment i've been meaning to do for a while. i chose a white mat on a white card base. i quite like it and will repeat the experience.

i think it's stylish, elegant. and it highlights the main embellishment.

in my cards bonanza video, i spoke about using stickles to prevent the ends of a ribbon from fraying. it's a neat trick i discovered out of necessity -- i was afraid to burn the edges of my ribbon by using my heat tool. it's a fragile organza and it's white... just remember to allow time to dry if you're using stickles.

the main embellishment is matted on a piece of handmade glitter cardstock. i also added a bling on the bouquet... or is it her ring?! lol

wedding card with handmade ribbon flower

here's a 2nd card i made using my lovely handmade flowers and the Stampin' Up!'s new In Color, Concord Crush. 

NOTE: i've been asked to demonstrate how to make the ribbon flower and i will try to get a video together, guys. but please bear with me as my work load has dramatically increased these past few weeks... not that i'm complaining! but i will definitely try to get a vid together.

so this card has a different orientation than the one from yesterday but i'm using exactly the same supplies. 

the brad in the middle of the flower is a Flower Designer Brad (#112579) to which i've added a Basic Rhinestone Jewel (#119246)... i just can't get enough of those Jewels. they're such a perfect addition to all projects. it also comes in the Pearls (#119247) variety and i have yet to crack open my package... i'm kinda hoarding them! they're so pretty and they come in 3 different sizes per package. love 'em!

and here are my card together. i love the monochromatic scheme. i think it's very classy. what do you think?

wedding thank you cards

It was almost a month ago that we had the pleasure of going to Ben and Lynn's wedding. It was a beautiful day, a beautiful ceremony and a lovely reception. Lynn made her invitations, programs and place cards herself but she ran out of steam for her Thank you cards. So I agreed to them for her... all 120 of them.  I had fun making them and I hope she's pleased. Here is the card she settled on out of the 3 samples I gave her:

Although the color looks like Tempting Turquoise on the picture, it is actually Taken with Teal to match with her invitations. The middle of the bouquet is a tiny touch of Turquoise Stickles and the image comes from an unknown stamp. I love it though. I found it last minute after one of my downlines asked me if she could borrow a wedding stamp set. I realized I didn't have any and that can't be good!

a wedding card

André and I are going to our friends' wedding today and I'd like to show you the card I made for them. I'm not too worried about Lynn seeing the card since I don't think she'll be checking my blog today :-)

No stamping! I chose this color scheme because it matches with the invitations. Apart from the chocolate chip cardstock, all the supplies are retired. I've used the Scallop Notes with envelope as well as the Love Birds rub-ons. With the Coluzzle circle cutter, I cut a whole in the middle of the soft sky scalloped part so that I can use the white rub-ons on the chocolate chip card base. I used a small circle hand-held punch for the scallops and a bigger one for the holes where the chocolate chip satin ribbon goes through. For the envelope, I used the Signo white gel pen to write the names of the bride and groom. Very simple, very classic.
