speedy recovery with tema's card

it's wednesday -- hump day!

so i'm always impressed when i realize that people pay attention to what i write here. it certainly is true about today's card which was made by my friend Tema. as soon as i saw the envelope, it brought a huge grin on my face... on the back of the envelope was a sports car sticker. oh yeah -- that's what i'm talking about! people who know me well are aware of my obsession with cars and F1 racing.

check out what was inside the envelope:

how cool is that! i love the metallic cardstock she used for the windows, lights and front fender.  but wait... there's more!

clever, right?! i love it! i asked tema what she used to make the card so here it is:

- the car on the front was die-cut with the Father's Day Cricut cartridge

- the pop-up inside from the Pop-Up Cricut cartridge.

marie-pierre's get well card

happy tuesday!

today, i'd like to feature another get well card i've received from my friend Marie-Pierre... all the way from the US.

adorable! check out the flawless coloring she did on that image:

that is some watercoloring talent right there, my friends! i love the image she's chosen also. and marie-pierre is one of those people that i never get tired of reading. she's got amazing penmanship and writing talent and her message inside lifted my spirits!

slowly getting back to normal

good monday, everyone!!!

wow, it seems like i'm visiting with an old friend i haven't seen in a long while. let me tell you: this convalescing thing... it's not for me :-) i can't drive for another 3 weeks and it's "driving" me nuts! being quite an independent person, it's difficult to rely on people for simple errands. but i must be patient (not my strongest virtue) and concentrate on getting better. i do see improvements every day, even if they're small ones, so i'm hanging on to that dearly.

because i can't sit for long periods of time, my studio work is seriously lacking. so for now, i'm more than happy to show you the well-wishes cards i've received from friends. i will post them in order in which they were received.

today, this blog post features Angelle and Sophie's beautiful card:

gorgeous and all shiny, this 3-d art card packs a punch.

i'm not sure whether she's used foam adhesives or silicone drops to layer all the images but it's such intricate work!

even the inside is decorated with 3-d embellishments!

merci Angelle et Sophie de votre visite à l'hôpital ainsi que pour ce petit chef-d'oeuvre qui m'a aidé à garder le moral. je vous aime très très fort toutes les deux!

such a sweet thought

i have such sweet friends. yesterday, i received a card from my friend and downline Chantal. i love getting handmade cards and gifts in the mail; i was so excited. here's her beautiful card.

how pretty! i believe she used bleach inside the flowers. they are stamped and embossed on glossy paper. here's a close-up.

Chantal, ta compassion me touche énormément. je me sens beaucoup mieux, surtout que j'ai un belle carte pour ensoleiller mon studio. merci!!!

video: friday randomness and a big thank you to tema!

i received a wonderful card yesterday in the mail. it's a beautiful get well card from my friend Tema. unfortunately, she doesn't have a blog to display her gorgeous creations. she made me this beautiful easel card:

there are such details on her card -- the beautiful glittery pattern paper, the glitter on the stamped flowers, the embossing at the bottom with the bling and the cute flower. thank you so much, Tema. your card really touched me. i also want to thank everyone who have sent their positive vibes my way. it must have helped because i do feel better! i have the best friends in the world and i feel so very blessed.

watercolor butterflies -- challenge to self day 3

today, i got to play with my little watercolor butterflies. that was an experiment i did a month ago by rubbing Old Olive and Taken With Teal Classic ink pads across my heat-resistant craft mat. then i spritzed some water over the ink, let the colors bead up then pressed a piece of watercolor paper over the ink mix. the result: gorgeous handmade painted paper!

i took that beautiful watercolor paper and die-cutted some butterflies with Stampin' Up!'s Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die. 

on this card, i stamped the Woodgrain background stamp with White Craft Ink over Kraft cardstock. then I stamped an image from the Kind & Caring Thoughts stamp set with Regal Rose and Olive Olive markers.  

this one is stamped with the En Français background stamp. there are two more cards in this series and you can hop on over to Card à la Carte to view them.

get well wishes - challenge to self day 1

 

so last night, i got my mojo back. yeah! when i reached into my pick jar, i pulled out a Really Rush border that i had punched with the Eyelet Border punch from Stampin' Up! i decided to go really shabby for this set of card because of the rusty tones. 

 

the paper i've used is an old paper pack from Daisy D's (does it still exist). it matches perfectly with the Really Rush cardstock and the Dusty Durango Polka-dot Grosgrain Ribbon! the paper gave me a good homey feeling so i decided to make 2 Get Well cards. the sentiments are from Teeny Tiny Wishes (French version: Voeux mignons).

 
 

i finally used my Build-a-Brad kit. woohoo! the flowers and leaves are from an old Prima kit i was hoarding. i misted the leaves with Olive Vine Glitter Mist from Tattered Angels. you can't see the glitter here but it really shines. i love it!
