sometimes a project needs time to come to fruition. i put together these 2 pages in an art journal after looking at this stencil designed by andrew borloz for stencil girl. it's a brilliant stencil and being the city girl that i am i jumped on the challenge issued by the girls at scrapbook centrale. and i think i made it work! i have to admit it was a bit of a challenge because i wasn't quite sure how to use it but couldn't find any inspiration or ideas online. so... i just went for it and this is what came out of my experiment:
it's an urban sunset scene that i'm particularly fond of. i love the contrast of the muted tones in the background sprayed with art anthology's sprays using the stencil as a mask. before i aded the rest, i stamped a new text image by impression obsession stamps.
then i used the stencil with viva decor's modelling creme in mother of pearl rose and contrasted this portion by adding india ink and spraying with water for some "drippage" action.
then the final step was to create some sort of fireworks but in keeping with the same color scheme. for that, i used the montana acrylic paint markers which are a lot of fun to smash on your projet and great for stress relief!
i finished it by adding some diamond stickles to the ends of the firecracker trails. done!
have a fantastic weekend!
