Wow, this week I got this surprise email:
"I am writing to let you know that one of your photos has been short-listed for inclusion in the tenth edition of our Schmap Maui and Molokai Guide, to be published at the end of this month...."
Here's the photo in question:
They found this picture through my Flickr account. It's Haleakala at sunrise... 10,000 feet above sea level on the Maui Island in Hawaii. I remember taking this picture so quickly (because my fingers were frozen solid) by pivoting my camera on the tripod, taking a break from photographing the sunrise. It seems so surreal now that we were even there. I remember the tourist guide chanting the Polynesian Sunrise Prayer. So very serene and breathtaking. I don't think I've ever felt closer to nature than at that moment.
Taking pictures is new to me. Taking good pictures is something I strive to achieve. So to be recognized for a picture I took is an awesome feeling. If it's chosen, I'll even get a credit caption with my name. So exciting. Just thought I'd share!
Have a great weekend! CeeCee
