My friend Genevieve sent me a template and challenged me so I couldn't resist. Here's a card I made using her template. I don't quite know how to call this shape of card but it was so much fun to make! I had a blast (pun intended!).
I decided to use a chipboard shape from the On Board Blossoms & Basics set (the square with the nested star). I colored the square with Tempting Turquoise Craft ink, doodled some background elements with a White Signo Gel Pen and covered the whole thing with Crystal Effects for a shiny look. I love it! The star is a pop-up from the square that I also treated with Crystal Effects but I've added Dazzling Diamonds Glitter on top. When you do that, make sure you let it to dry thoroughly before manipulating. That star was mounted on 4 layers of Stampin' Dimensionals, cut down to size and nested back in its original spot. It actually wiggles a bit, which I love! The rocket from Pun Fun is stamped with Black StazOn ink on watercolor paper, colored with Stampin' Write markers in More Mustard, Tempting Turquoise, Real Red and Glorious Green and an Aqua Painter, and accented with the White Gel Pen over the dots and the window. The patterned papers are from East Coast Prep Designer Series Paper pack and the textured cardstock used are More Mustard, Tempting Turquoise and Real Red. I've also used the Word Window punch to cut out the sentiment and accented with 2 Real Red brads. What'd'a think, Gen?
Here's a side view to give you a better idea. I love how this card folds; it's so amusing! Perfect for a little boy's card.
